First Wedding Photo Shoot Ever

IMG_9837

I did this shoot for a friend. The very first wedding I’ve ever done. I was a backup photographer that almost became the main photographer. I had a ton of fun! Since I was the backup photographer, I didn’t interrupt the main one and let everyone look at her. I was able to squeeze in and get a couple.

I Love This Building

Best shot I've taken of the Salt Lake Temple

I go up to Salt Lake every now and again. Every time I go, I love seeing this building for more reasons than one. Even when I don’t have time to take pictures of it, just looking at it and finding new things in the architecture of it amazes me. What’s even more awesome is to think it was built over 100 years ago and it took 40 years to build, not to mention the time it took to design. The designers were sent to Europe and spent time studying the architecture there to help incorporate it into this building.

Behind the Scenes

img_7745-2

I shot this at a movie I filmed for a class. I took along my camera so I could have some fun with 3 point lighting.

Connors Family Pictures

I don’t have much practice with portraits, but my sister in law wanted me to take some pictures of her while I was visiting. It was a lot of fun and I think I learned a lot. And I hope they had fun. Here are just some of the things that I learned:

  1. Interact with the people. Every person is different, but you want their personality to show through in the pictures. My photo idol, Scott Jarvie, is huge on this. And he’s really good at it.
  2. You don’t need to have a ton of flashes, reflectors and shades to get decent looking portraits. Hopefully you agree with me… But I learned to use what I had and to stretch it a little further.
  3. Keep the kids entertained. If they aren’t, it’s really hard for them to smile at you. I got the pictures done with the entire family so that my niece could go play.
  4. Keep the husband entertained. Just as important as the kid.

Reaching for the Sun

I planted a garden for the first time ever a while ago. These are some of the sunflowers that are coming up.

Logan Temple

I didn’t spend much time there (maybe about 10 minutes or so) but that was enough time to get off some decent shots. Enjoy!

Manti Temple

I love history, so I jumped at the chance to go to Manti and go through the temple there. Such an awesome experience!

Having Some Fun At The Festival Of Colors

Taken by my buddy Scott Jarvie, The Master Warrior Jedi Knight Ninja of photography. And yes, he really is all those things. If you don’t believe me, check out his website.
